Middle Eastern dance and travel
Take me to the places on the earth that teach you how to dance, the places where you can risk letting the world break your heart and I will take you to the places where the earth beneath my feet and the stars overhead make my heart whole again and again. Oriah Mountain Dreamer...
Guided trips to the desert for dance, relaxation and healing with Anne Kingston and Mad Nomad.
In Oct 2012 join Anne, Barbara and Allal on a desert healing journey to the beautiful Moroccan Sahara. We start and finish our journey in the vibrant and magical city of Marrakech so time to experience some of the city's many delights.
Most of our time is spent at the idyllic Dar Sidi Bounou Palmerie on the northern edge of the Sahara desert at M'hamid El Ghizlane, Province of Zagora in the Draa Valley, an area of spectacular beauty and enduring traditions. Let the beautiful peace and quiet of our desert home allow you to take a deep breath and relax. Take a look at our desert home Dar Sidi Bounou - www.darsidibounou.com.
As well as time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the desert and the Berber pace of life you can also enjoy chilled out and fun dance classes with Anne Kingston, individual Reiki healing sessions with Barbara Conroy, to calm both body and soul, and all the experience of the Berber's ancient culture facilitated by Moroccan Berber drummer/teacher Allal Yamine (Mad Nomad). Join us and renew your energy and spirit, let the desert heal your mind and body and allow your soul to dance.
The trips are aimed specifically at relaxation through dance and healing with time to watch the desert sunrise and sunsets, star gaze, and recharge your batteries in one of the stunning environments on Planet Earth. We do have a lot of fun as well with plenty of opportunities to dance and drum.
At just £? (prices and dates to follow shortly) [excluding flights - low cost airlines Ryanair and Easy Jet fly to Marrakech from most UK airports]. This price covers accommodation in a beautiful old Riad in Marrakech where we spend our first and last two nights, (2 mins walk from the famous Djemma el Fna square), travel through the Atlas Mountains to the desert, one night staying in a beautiful old Kasbah on the way, all accommodation, refreshments and meals at Dar Sidi Bounou, camel riding and overnight camp in the desert and all dance/drumming lessons and healing treatments. We have allowed plenty of time in Marrakech for those much desired treasures of the Medina or a relaxing Hammam before returning home.
