Middle Eastern dance and travel
Dance is my passion and although I love to try different dance styles my heart has been in Egyptian bellydance for the last 18 years. I have had some amazing dance experiences including dancing in the desert in Egypt and Tunisia with the Bedouins, the Moroccan Sahara with beautiful Berber people, performing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall with Algerian singer Khaled and being on stage for a impromtu boogie with Egypt's legendary dancer, Fifi Abdou, watched by the equally legendary Sohair Zaki (thanks for that Sara - what an experience)!
I qualified as a JWAAD Diploma teacher several years ago and since then have taught across the UK from Northumberland to Jersey at day workshops, all the major festivals and on residential weekends. I teach regular weekly classes and private lessons in the North West and give talks on Middle Eastern dance to womens groups. If you want to join one of my classes email or phone me for availablity, and check out the details on the Classes page.
I also love taking women and sometimes mixed groups (dancers and non dancers) to the Middle East including week long dance holidays to Cairo and luxury weekends in Marrakech with Farida Adventures. I also have my own trips to the Moroccan Sahara with Barbara Conroy and Mad Nomad, I love the desert and dancing there is amazing. The first Desert Dance Healing trip in Oct 2011 was just such a wonderful experience we are already organising the Oct 2012 and 2013 trips. Check out the Travel page.
